food ok - service very slow - we only had main meals and it took over an hour for them to come to the table - wouldn't hurry back...

Stayed at a local villa near 10 mins walk from El Burro. The food we ate at the restaurant was the best I have eaten in a long time. The t-bone steak special was fantastic and the way they serve it to you is just amazing. Everything that myself or my family tried was brilliant. Also the service we received was second to none. I would definitely go back to El Burro!!!!

Went to El Burro in January and had a very nice meal, suckling pig.But it was not the best I had had.Everything else was good.As my husband had trouble with his mouth we did not eat there again.......or anywhere else that did not do fish!!! But went back at the end of March with my friend and we had two fantastic meals in there, staff very pleasant and the atmosphere was very good. Also stayed at the Flora( 2nd time) and as always was lovely, clean etc and staff great. As for cardiac hill........well I suffer from arthritis and if you break your journey on the way up its not to bad. Mind over matter. Going back to Lanzarote at the end of July and will defo go to El Burro.

We stayed in puerto del carmen for 2 weeks november 2009.We eat out all lunches & diners & ate at El Burro at least 6 times. All the meals were excellent quality & very good value, also the wine, both "House" & bottles was excellent value. The service was friendly & efficient & we were welcomed each time we visited. The restaurant is well decorated, atmospheric & the music not too loud. Although the menu states Mexican",that is a small part of dishes on offer;everything we tried we enjoyed & portions were generous. Previous reviews donot sound like the same place! The only snag is it is situated at the top of "cardiac Hill" so if you are not staying nearby,as we were, a taxi is a good idea & cheap.

I think the others went to a different place, we both had mixed grills from here, the plates were piled high and the meat was tasty and tender. Very good value too

I ate in el burro for the first time in august 2006...its was fantastic...there was a big crowd of us, yet we were served promptly and the food was great... So we returned to el burro in july 2007...WHAT A LET DOWN...the food was nowhere near as good as the previous year...the staff wernt half as friendly...i couldnt believe the change

Sorry I have to be honest the meal my husband and I had was just awful and to be honest the service wasn't much better! Most nights there was quite a queue outside the restaurant which was why we tried it but either everyone in the queue had lost their tastebuds or they all thought the same as us if there is a queue it must be good but in our case it wasn't good!
