Over the seven years we've been holidaying in Lanzarote we've eaten at least once each time at Puerto Bahia. Food has always been excellent, staff are friendly and very smart, nice white tablecloths and a stunning view over the harbour. We like to sit outside in the evening but the walkway past can get very busy especially when the fair is in town just around the corner. Personally, I would ban all the "pedlars" who wander along trying to sell you glowing light-sticks, etc while you're trying to enjoy dinner! This year we did find "Maitre-D" a little abrupt and watching his staff like a hawk which perhaps was why one or two of the waiters who we've come to know, didn't seem as chatty and carefree as previous years.

Ok we've a comment a few lines down which was sent just before our most recent trip to PdC. Now we're home again :-( Went to Puerto Bahia on night 2 as we usually split meals between El Ancla and PB. Unfortunately, while the food was as good as ever the atmosphere was most certainly not. Strained is putting it mildly. The Maitre d' can be grumpy ( as others have noted). But man was he off form this time. And the staff were all running around like they were afraid of some major disaster looming. The maitre d' was positively rude to at least 2 tables while we were there. If it was me I'd have made a major stink and left right there. We can all have an off day but you cannot take that to the customer. It was as if the only aim was to get you in and out as fast as possible. I had to hold onto my plate to stop it being taken away before I was finished. And it was not as if they were that busy. It put me right off and was very disappointing. You do not need this sort of tension on holidays. Food 10 , atmmosphere and service ... null points. The only good thing was as a result we found the Casa Roja ( across from El Ancla) which served equally good food of a similar style for about 25% less cost and with an atmosphere to boot. I'm very disappointed after many good meals at PB.

After been a month in Lanzarote, this is my personal list of the best restaurants in PDC, Puerto Bahia, MAMMACARLA, and MONTMATRE, we went many times and was all perfect, Puerto Bahia is very expensive, but the food is good, Mamma Carla and Mont matre, the price is very cheaper, but food good too. for a breakfast go to PurleTurtle.
